Lessons Learned Module 2

In Module two, we continued to explore the OSI/ISO Model's Data Link Layer, Network Layer and the Transport Layer. We learned toppics on TCP/IP family protocols such as ARP, UDP, TCP, DHCP, and DNS and we learned about the hardware that operates at these levels such as switches and routers.

The learning artifact I chose for this module was the assignment Understanding Switches. This artifact consists of a set of questions I answered after watching a video tutorial that focused on OSI Level Two Devices by Eli the Computer Guy. In this assignment I learned about the difference bwtween hubs and switches and the difference between managed and unmanaged switches. Specific topics from this tutorial included basic switch concepts, speed, trunk connections, VLANS, QOS and spanning Tree protocol.
